The body of a man found late Wednesday in a car associated with a missing Auburn man has been identified as Tyshunn Raheem McCray.

McCray, 25, was reported missing by his family on May 2. At the time, Auburn police said he was seen in a maroon 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. That car was found late Wednesday night in Clay County south of Atlanta. Authorities were not immediately able to identify the body but now say it is that of McCray. On Thursday, Auburn police said the case is being investigated as a homicide.

The Auburn Police Division is assisting the Clayton County Georgia Police Department and Georgia Bureau of Investigation with their case. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Auburn Police Division at 334-501-3140. Anonymous tips can be sent to 334-246-1391.
