Rain pushes ACCC championship game back a day

Posted: Updated:
OZARK, Ala. - The Chattahoochee Valley Pirates' conference tournament championship matchup with Alabama Southern has been postponed.

Rains originally pushed the start time back, but after the teams played a scoreless inning, the game was called.

It has been rescheduled for Thursday at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Pirate head coach Adam Thomas wanted to move the game up two hours to a noon ET start to avoid the weather, but Alabama Southern--which has played four games in two days and must beat the Pirates twice to win the tournament--refused.

Top-ranked CVCC needs to win just one to claim the title.
