White tiger cubs make public debut

Posted: Updated:
AUSTRIA - Five white tiger cubs recently born in a zoo in Austria are now make their public debut.

The zoo's owner says it is rare for a tiger to bear so many cubs in one litter, and if they do, the offspring do not often survive.

"We couldn't believe it (at) first. We had four cubs and two hours later the fifth was coming. And then we were really happy because all cubs were moving, were running to their mother,” said owner, Herbert Eder.

Eder credits the good health of his tigers to the fact that they live in a big open air zoo located in the Austrian mountains where the animals can roam freely.
