Durham police arrested and charged a 21-year-old man with first-degree murder in connection with drive-by shooting on May 25.

Alexis Hernandez Ramirez, of Durham, was arrested Tuesday on Ivy Street, police said.

Durham police officers found the body of Juan Carlos Ruiz, 27, of Durham, inside a car that had crashed into a home at 2717 N.C. Highway 98 (Holloway Road) around 4:24 p.m. May 25, authorities said.

Ruiz had been shot once in the torso, police said.
