Scattered damage, one minor injury reported from storms

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Thursday’s storms brought strong wind and heavy rain to much of eastern Carolina.

9 On Your Side crews in the field found damage those storms left behind. One of the areas hit is Bell Arthur.
    
There a lot of damage concentrated in the area as well as downed power lines. Greenville Utilities is currently working on those lines.

There is also debris scattered around the area.
    
Brandon Najera described to 9 On Your Side’s Brandon Goldner the thunderstorm that blew through the area, “I saw the rain getting real bad. The rain was coming down hard. Sky got real dark. Just a normal thunder storm."

But it didn’t turn out to be any ordinary storm as evidenced by the damage to Najera's neighborhood.

There’s also damage on Nash Joyner Road and Pollard Road, including a  lot of debris and siding stripped from several houses.

Other reports of damage from around the area include:

Beaufort County: A county official reported trees down near Blounts Creek. There was one minor injury between Blounts Creek and Cox Crossroads.

Greene County: : Trees were reported down near Walstonburg.

Lenoir County: A deputy called to report one and a quarter inch hail and strong winds in the LaGrange area.

Pitt County: In Bell Arthur, damage was reported to a garage and several homes. There were also downed trees and power lines in the area. One inch hail was reported in Farmville. A spotter also reported dime-size hail and gusty winds up to 70 mph along Hog Market Road northwest of town. A large tree limb was reportedly snapped by strong winds in Winterville.

Washington County: Near Creswell, the canopy from a gas station was reported blown into the highway.
