POLK COUNTY, FL (WFLA) - You may have seen a new poster hanging in some Polk County retail stores: This one isn't offering a promotion for the store, rather it's offering a free ride to anyone who shoplifts, courtesy the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Grady Judd highlighted eleven people who were arrested for shop lifting in the month of May on their Facebook page. Their Facebook post stated:

"Red-and-blue light special! Not only did these folks get a free ride in May, they also get to be featured on our Facebook page! It's real simple - if you shoplift from a store in Polk County, you get a FREE RIDE to the county jail! And you might even get to be on our next FB post!"

The Sheriff's Office says the "free ride" posters are available to all retail stores. If you would like one for your retail store, call PCSO Crime Prevention at 863-298-6677 and the Sheriff's Office says they will bring your store a poster. They can also help businesses establish a Business Watch program.
