COLUMBUS, Ga. -

Columbus police are on the hunt for the gunman who opened fire at a South Columbus nightclub early Sunday morning.

The shooting happened after midnight Sunday in the parking lot of the Carousel Lounge on Victory Drive, according to police reports. Police say 21-year-old Chris Butler was shot in the back, but is now listed in stable condition. Records show Butler lives in Phenix City and is a soldier in the Army. No one else was injured in the shooting.

This is the second shooting in the Carousel Lounge’s parking lot since April. Marcus King was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Carousel Lounge on April 1. A suspect has not been named in that shooting.
