Ever wonder what goes on in the kitchen of your favorite restaurants? We’ve gathered details about the 30 Tampa Bay restaurants that received the most violations during inspections conducted from May 26 to 31, 2014.

We were curious to find out which Tampa Bay restaurant received the most violations during a state inspection.

So, WFLA.com did some digging through 2013 and 2014 inspection records and found one restaurant that had more violations than any other, receiving more than 100 violations during an inspection.

Skipper's Smokehouse restaurant and music venue which is located at 910 Skipper Rd. received 105 violations during an inspection on October 1, 2013.

Inspectors did not close the restaurant on that day, but did require a follow-up inspection which was conducted the next day. Skipper's improved its score and had 43 violations during the October 2 follow-up inspection. Skipper's has had one more inspection since then on March 5, 2014. During that inspection the restaurant received 13 violations, which is much lower than previous inspections.

We've included in the slideshow above, the 20 Tampa Bay restaurants with the most violations found by inspectors during a visit. The restaurants are organized by county, with Hillsborough having the most, followed by Pinellas and then Hernando with one restaurant.

If you click the graphic for each individual slide, you can see the restaurant's inspection report.

Inspectors from Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation conducted the inspections. The department cited violations of Florida's sanitation and safety laws, which are based on the standards of U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Food Code.

While most establishments correct all violations in a timely manner (often during the inspection), the division's procedures are designed to compel compliance with all violations through follow-up visits, administration action or closure when necessary, according to the Florida DBPR website.
