Heath Holloway, the man wanted in three counties for charges including attempted murder, has been captured after an extensive police manhunt Friday.

Multiple law enforcement agencies began searching the Salem area Friday afternoon after receiving a tip Holloway was in the area. Utilizing officers both on the ground and in the air, authorities tracked Holloway south toward Phenix City. Around 5p et, they managed to block the path of his vehicle as it traveled down Lee Road 456. Holloway, who was taken into custody without incident, may have convinced the driver of a green pickup truck to give him a lift. It was not immediately clear if the driver knew Holloway was a wanted man, an officer at the scene tells WRBL News  3. The driver, who could face charges for helping a wanted fugitive, was transported by authorities away from the scene for further questioning. His name has not been released.

In May, Phenix City police asked other law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for Holloway after a reported shooting. Holloway was later spotted at a gas station and lead police on a chase before escaping. Three children were injured during the chase when Holloway's vehicle collided with the family car. That family is now exploring their legal options in a possible suit against Holloway.

Last week, Holloway was driving a sports utility vehicle in Harris County that was pulled over for a traffic stop, Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley said.  Holloway again disappeared after leading law enforcement on a high speed chase.

Holloway now faces a long list of charges including those for attempted murder and two high speed chases. He is being held in the Lee County Detention Center.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office, Harris County Sheriff's Office, Phenix City Police Department, Metro Drug Task Force, Alabama Department of Public Safety, Alabama Department of Corrections and the United States Marshal Service all contributed to the arrest and capture of Holloway.
