(WJHL) - If you were up around 4:00 a.m. on the east coast, you may have noticed something wrong with Facebook.

Facebook went down, around the world, just before 1:00 a.m. PT for about half an hour.

If you were on the site or its app at the time, you may been met with a network error message, “ Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”

A Facebook spokesperson told CNET earlier this morning, “We experienced an issue that prevented people from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time. We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100%. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Facebook boasts of having more than 1.28 billion monthly users.

CNET contributed to this report.
