2014 Miss Georgia Pageant Friday preliminary results and on-demand video

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

The 70th Annual Miss Georgia Pageant continued tonight at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, Georgia. Eighty women from across the state competed for academic scholarship and the titles of Miss Georgia 2014 and Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen 2014. The preliminary competition included Lifestyle and Fitness, Talent, and Evening Wear. Contestants were also judged in private interviews earlier in the week.

Miss Peachtree City Outstanding Teen, Emma Wernecke, was named a preliminary winner in the Lifestyle and Fitness category. Miss Greater Columbus Outstanding Teen, Anna Maley, was named a preliminary winner in the talent category.

Miss Fulton County, Brooke Doss, was named a preliminary winner in the Lifestyle and Fitness Category. Miss Presidential Pathways, Betty Cantrell, was named a preliminary winner in the talent category.

The final night of competition will be held Saturday, June 21, where Miss Georgia 2014 and Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen 2014 will both be crowned. The winners will represent Georgia at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City on September 14th and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in Orlando on August 2nd. The Miss America Organization is the largest scholarship provider for young women, making available more than $45 million in cash and tuition scholarship assistance each year.
