ALABAMA - Alabama storm survivors have 1 week left to register for disaster assistance from the federal government.
Survivors who were affected by tornadoes and flooding from April 28 through May 5 must register by July 1 for help from FEMA and the Small Business Administration.
To contact FEMA, you can go online to DisasterAssistance.gov, visit m.fema.gov through a smartphone, or call 800-621-3362 or (TTY) 800-462-7585. Toll free phone numbers are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
To apply for a low-interest loan from the Small Business Administration, call 800-659-2955.
FEMA has several requirements to register. An applicant must be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien. Applicants must also have a social security number, insurance information, damage information, financial information, and contact information. Banking information for direct deposit is optional.
Meanwhile, five Small Business Admininstration Disaster Loan Outreach Centers are closing on Thursday, June 26, at 6 p.m.
These are the centers at the Fairhope Civic Center and Elberta Town Hall in Baldwin County, the Graysville Public Library in Jefferson County, Ripley W.O.W. Hall in Limestone County, and the Old Navy/Marine Corps reserve in Mobile County.
