CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

A 24-year-old female suffered a broken arm after being hit by a vehicle while using a pedestrian crosswalk Tuesday on West Franklin Street in Chapel Hill.

Police said the woman was walking towards the SunTrust Bank in the 100 block of West Franklin Street when a westbound vehicle hit her.

The victim fractured her arm and suffered some bruising but no life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police are investigating the accident. Charges against the driver are pending.
