Three arrested after convenience store busted for illegal gambling

Posted: Updated:
A convenience store on 2nd Avenue in Columbus has been busted for commercial gambling, Captain Gil Slouchick of the Columbus Police Department tells News 3.

Three men were arrested Thursday night, accused of commercial gambling after illegal gambling machines were found in the Quick Stop convenience store. Darshan Bhalodi, Jay Chaudhary and Mitil Bhalodi are facing commercial gambling charges. At least one of the men was the owner of the store, police say.

The area was roped off with crime scene tape late Thursday night as the raid was taking place and the three men were taken into custody. The convenience store is still open, but the illegal gambling machines have been confiscated. The store is located behind a BP gas station at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 22nd Street.
