Homicide investigation underway after alleged stabbing of 22-year-old

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) -

Kingsport Police Department officers reportedly found a 22-year-old man dead from apparent stab wounds early Friday morning.

According to a KPD news release, patrol officers responded to Allen Creek Apartments, Apt. 108, 411 Allen Drive, in reference to a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived, they found Stephen P. Chastain, 22, dead from stab wounds.

According to the release, Chastain was reportedly stabbed by his older brother, David L. Chastain, 26.

KPD Criminal Investigations Division detectives were called to the scene.

Due to evidence collected, facts uncovered and witness statements at the scene, detectives said this case will be presented to the Sullivan County Grand Jury to determine what, if any, charges would be placed.

According to the news release, the investigation is ongoing and no other information is being released at this time.
