NC mom high on Oxycodone sentenced in crash that killed 6-year-old daughter

NEW BERN, N.C. - A New Bern woman pleaded guilty for a DWI crash that killed her 6-year-old daughter.  Amber Sandvig made the plea in court Monday afternoon.

Her 6-year-old daughter, Alanna, died last year when Sandvig was high on drugs and crashed her car with her two children in the backseat. Her two-year-old son, Blaze, was seriously injured.

Police also found drug paraphernalia in her car including syringes, a needle, and spoon.  Lab results found Oxycodone in Sandvig's system.

She was sentenced to 12-17 years of jail time. After she gets out, she be under 5 years of suspended supervised sentence (probation).
