The old brick building that housed Clyde Cooper's Barbecue in downtown Raleigh since 1938 was torn down Wednesday morning to make room for a new six-story building.
The owner's of Clyde Cooper's had known since 2008 that new construction was planned to occur at their location on Davie Street.
They recently moved to 327 S. Wilmington St., just around the corner from the original location.
