15-year-old shoots teen brother in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

A 14-year-old boy was shot by his 15-year-old brother Wednesday in Fayetteville.

The 15-year-old was trying to unload a handgun inside a residence at 787 Broadmore Drive when it discharged around 11:30 a.m., striking his brother, police said.

The shooting victim was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment but has been moved to UNC-Chapel Hill with non-life threatening injuries, Fayetteville police said.

Fayetteville police are still investigating the incident.
