UNC police investigate armed robbery near Memorial Hall

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

 University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill police are asking for public's help in identifying two people wanted in connection with an armed robbery Friday night near Memorial Hall.

Police said two armed suspects approached the victims around 11 p.m. near Memorial Hall on East Cameron Avenue. The suspects demanded their wallets and cell phones.

The suspects then pushed the victims to the ground and ran towards Franklin Street, police said.

Police described the suspects as both black males, 25-30 years old.

One suspect was described as heavy set, standing around 6-feet tall, wearing a do-rag, a short sleeve dark shirt, police said.

The second suspect was thin, standing 6 feet 2 inches with thick hair, wearing a dark shirt and khaki shorts.
