New Bern holds "Bern Summer Blast"

NEW BERN, N.C. - Hundreds enjoyed music along the waterfront at the Bern Summer Blast in New Bern Saturday night.

This is the third year for the summer concert series sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. The event is held at the Union Point Park in downtown New Bern.

This year’s concert series featured Spare Change, American Idol contestant Emily Minor and The Tams.

Bern Blast also featured food trucks, vendors, and bounce houses.

The event ran from 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 12 and cost $20 at the gate. Children 12 and under were admitted free with a paid adult ticket.
