Suspect leads officials on high speed chase through two counties

GRANTSBORO, N.C. - A suspect is behind bars after leading police, deputies. and troopers on a high speed chase through two counties.

The Pamlico County Sheriff's Office says the chase started in Havelock and ended in Grantsboro.   

Police say the suspect was  involved in a strong arm robbery in Havelock early Saturday evening.  Police say Tremayne Arrington, 39, forced himself into the Murphy's gas station in Morehead City. Arrington took less than $200 and then drove away. Havelock Police tried to pull over the car, since it fit the vehicle description from the robbery, but the suspect took off.

The suspect was stopped and arrested in front of the Bojanles in Grantsboro.

Arrington was placed in the Craven County Detention under a $400,000 bond.

No one was hurt and no property was damaged during the incident.
