HOOVER, Ala. -
When Nick Saban made his entrance into SEC Media Days, he knew what to expect. Every year, Alabama fans wait for hours hoping to get a glimpse of the legendary coach. His team is not used to coming into seasons with a two game losing streak. He explained his famous “process.”
"Nobody needs to judge. Nobody needs to complain. Nobody needs to question. Everybody needs to buy in to the things that made us successful and submit to the things to the things they need to do to be successful," said Saban.
That wisdom usually is accompanied by a passionate drive for excellence. That can turn into anger. Safety Landon Collins told us when he gets most fiery.
"The beginning of practice, maybe, or the beginning of warm-ups. That is the worst time because he wants everything fast motion and warmed up quick because we have a long day ahead of us," said Landon Collins.
Those practices get a new look this year because of offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin. Nick Saban says his staff jokes about Kiffin’s return to Knoville in the Tennessee game.
"They don’t like me in Baton Rouge because I left. They don’t like him in Tennessee. I’ve had to go back there. I survived. I think he will probably survive too, or I hope he does," said Saban.
The Tide is a tight group this season. They spend a lot of time together. Christion Jones won a team dance-off this week. When asked if he would demonstrate, he looked to the moderator for the okay.
"You want to see something,?" Jones asked.
The next time to show off his moves in Atlanta for the first game of the season against West Virginia.
