CV Pride opens first of its kind community center

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

A first of its kind community center has opened its door right here in Columbus. The Chattahoochee Valley Pride organization had the grand opening celebration for their community center Saturday afternoon. In the heart of midtown Columbus, organizers say the Pride Community Center is open for everyone across the Chattahoochee Valley and will be a safe space for the LGBT community.

"It means that we actually are able to sit and have a voice. That's something that I don't think has really been here so now we have a voice and resource center for everyone to come. Not just the LGBT community but the community as a whole," said Tan Coleman with Chattahoochee Valley Pride.

The center will be open on a needs basis for now, but members of the organization say they hope to have it open 7 days a week in the future. For more information you can visit cvpride.org.
