Two teenagers are facing felony murder charges after another teen was shot in the head. Police are still searching for another suspect they say got into a gunfight with the teens and 16-year-old Christopher Jones.

Jones was found dead Thursday night in a black sedan at the intersection of Winston Road and Head Street. The car had crashed into a ditch and through a fence.

David Reid says Jones, his stepson, was a good kid who loved to play football. “He feed the neighborhood- anybody need anywhere to go to sleep, if you were hungry, even if he had to sneak it out of the house to you- he made sure you were fed,” says Reid.

Reid said Jones was in the wrong place at the wrong time. “They were going to go sell some guns, and the boys tried to take them from him and they went back to get what was theirs,” says Reid.

Kerin Jordan Moore lives in the area where the murder happened. She says she doesn't feel safe. “I've been here for a year and maybe 5 months and there's been maybe 3 or 4 murders since I've been here. It's not a good neighborhood to live in,” she says.

The two juveniles charged in the case are set to appear in court Saturday morning. They are also charged with theft because police say the car and a gun in the car were both stolen.

Anyone with information about the murder is asked to call Columbus Police at 706-653-3400.
