RALEIGH, N.C. -

A North Raleigh house commonly referred to as “the party mansion” sold last month for $1 million.

The home, located just off Falls of Neuse Road in the Radcliffe subdivision, was previously owned by Claude Verbal II and Pamela Verbal.

Residents in the neighborhood accused the owners of throwing outrageous parties and using the home as an “adult” nightclub. The parties, which carried themes like "Eyes Wide Shut" and "Immersia [sic] Pool Party," became so wild that some neighbors felt like prisoners in their own neighborhood.

Neighbors said the parties violated multiple neighborhood covenants, including using the home as a business and being a nuisance in the neighborhood.

The new owner, Clarence Mann, bought the home for $1 million on July 30. According to real estate website Zillow.com, the house was originally listed for sale on June 6, 2013, for $2.8 million.

The listing was removed Nov. 8 and the house was again listed on Jan. 22 for $1.6 million.

In April, Claude Verbal pleaded guilty to tax fraud, healthcare fraud and money laundering in two separate cases in federal court.
