Minor injuries reported in several crashes across Russell County and Phenix City

RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. - Phenix City police say they assisted in 16 accident reports, with three accidents involving injuries. 

Police say their dispatch center has received 30 calls from stranded motorists who needed help.

Dozens of vehicles were abandoned on the roadways.

In addition, Russell County dispatch reports they’ve assisted about 15 motorists with vehicles in ditches or sliding on the roadways. They’ve had about four accidents, only two with minor injuries.

Phenix City Pplice would like to thank city work crews and Alabama DOT for their continuing efforts to sand roads and urge drivers to remain off the roads.
