Ashley Moore is a Senior at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA. She is studying Mass Communications with an emphasis on Convergence Journalism and minoring in Political Science.
At UWG, Ashley is a Dean’s List student and an Honors College Ingram Scholar. She is also the recipient of several academic awards and honors, such as the Multicultural Advanced Placement Academic Award, Mass Communications Academic Achievement Award, and Dora Byron Scholarship in Mass Communications. Ashley is also a Reporter for The West Georgian student newspaper, Vice President of Communication for the UWG Blue Coats, and enjoys volunteering at different university events.
Ashley has collaborated with local radio stations to produce and record advertisements for small businesses.
During high school, Ashley was the News Anchor for SCTV, the student news station and actively competed in Public Speaking competitions. Ashley won multiple Public Speaking awards on local and state levels of competition through Future Business Leaders of America and advanced to nationals twice representing Georgia.
Ashley joined the WRBL News 3 team as a production assistant in August 2020.
In her spare time, Ashley enjoys trying new recipes, watching Netflix, exercising, and staying involved in her church and community. She recently became a volunteer Mentor with Mentoring Village in Carrollton and was a Hospice Care Options volunteer for two years, which ended last fall.
“My goal is to keep the public informed and educated, from all perspectives. It is my priority to emphasize facts over opinions to deliver the most accurate and credible version of a story. This is why I chose to become a Journalist.”
Upon graduation, Ashley plans to pursue a career as a Broadcast Journalist or a Multi-Media Journalist.
