Sakura Gray

Sakura Gray is a weekend anchor multimedia journalist for WRBL. As a reporter, writer and content creator, she keenly observes the world around her and shares stories that otherwise might be overlooked. She is from Houston, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a double major in Journalism and Radio-TV-Film.

During her time as a Longhorn, Sakura interned at KXAN-TV where she was able to assist on the set of a live lifestyle show, Studio 512. It was through this internship that she fell in love with the hustle and bustle of working in a live newsroom. She spent a semester in Los Angeles interning for Hollywire, a celebrity and entertainment news platform. She additionally produced and hosted a college comedy talkshow where she interviewed students on UT’s campus.

Beyond her studies, she served as an officer of Tridelta sorority, volunteered with the Zavalla After School Program and worked at Circuit of the Americas for events such as Formula One and MotoGP.

She was born in Japan and had the opportunity to spend her childhood summers there attending school. Sakura loves to perform and compete; she was a competitive figure skater and danced on the University of Texas Pom Squad as a cheerleader at football and basketball games.

Sakura is excited to call Columbus her new home and looks forward to being an active part of the local community!
