Ty-Nice Berry serves many roles at WRBL News 3, and her story truly exhibits the value of hard work and dedication.
Some people will tell you they always dreamed of a career in television. But Ty-Nice says, for her, that is not how it happened. She credits local journalist Rosalyn Giles for her start in the business that she loves. The pair attended the same church, and Rosalyn thought Ty-Nice would be a good fit at Channel 3. So with Rosalyn’s encouragement, Ty-Nice applied, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Ty-Nice started as a part-time production assistant. She quickly transitioned to a full-time employee, and since then, steadily moved through the ranks of the station to her current positions as senior editor and assignment manager. In fact, many people at WRBL refer to Ty-Nice as the heart of the newsroom.
Ty-Nice’s father served in the Army, and she has lived in various locations including South Carolina—and Germany!
One of her favorite aspects of working in television news is that each day is different. The fast-pace of working at WRBL also allows her the opportunity to meet a number of people, and Ty-Nice enjoys establishing those lasting connections with both friends in the industry and the community.
When she’s not at work, Ty-Nice’s favorite thing to do is spend time with her baby, Irie. She also enjoys outings with her family and friends.
