Phenix City, AL (WRBL) – Eddie Lowe is currently serving his third term as the mayor of Phenix City. When he first took office, Mayor Lowe made history by becoming the first African American Before his time in local politics the former Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker and spent 9 years in the Canadian Football League as a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was also a member of the 1989 Grey Cup Championship team.
