COLUMBUS, Ga. – A woman with a unique passion made a visit to the valley Thursday and she left our community a little better than before she arrived.
Jess Kurti stopped at Feeding the Valley Food Bank Thursday morning to help pack mobile pantry boxes. Since 2014, she’s made it a goal to visit and volunteer at every one of feeding America’s network of food banks.
Kurti says she’s developed a passion for ending hunger in America.
“It’s heartbreaking because we do have enough food to feed everybody because we do have enough food everybody. But we need people who are engaged in their communities and willing to help. It’s going to take all of us,” said Kurti.
There are 200 feeding America’s network of food banks across the country and Kurti’s stop at feeding the valley marks here 153rd facility visit. There are eight facilities in Georgia and she plans to head to the Macon area next.
