As we commemorate March 3 and honor those lost in the tornado from 2019, a number of events are taking place across the communities affected by the storm.
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has ordered flags flown at half staff in remembrance of the 23 men, women, and children lost in the tornado as it ravaged Alabama and parts of Georgia.

This is the schedule of events:
- 12p.m./11 a.m. CST – EAMC Remembrance Service at the East Alabama Medical Center
- 3:03p.m./2:03p.m. CST – City of Smiths Station Moment of Silence at the Smiths Station Government Center
- 6p.m./5p.m. CST – Groundbreaking for March 3rd Memorial at Providence Baptist Church
- 7p.m./6p.m. CST – Night of Remembrance Service at Providence Baptist Church
