3 arrested in Auburn on burglary charges

AUBURN, Ala. – Three people have been arrested after being identified as being involved in a burglary.

Auburn Police have arrested 39-year-old Jimmy Vickerstaff of Auburn, 22-year-old Brandon Hughley of Opelika, and 20-year-old Shaiwun Hugley of Opelika on charges of burglary first degree and theft of property fourth degree.

Police say around 2 a.m. Thursday they responded to a call in the 500 block of Perry Street. When officers arrived they were given a description of a vehicle and three suspects, one of which was armed with a handgun. Police also say that approximately $500 worth of electronics and clothing were stolen.

Police located the vehicle in the vicinity with all three inside.

Vickerstaff, Hughley, and Hugley were taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail. Each will be eligible for a $26,000 bond.
