AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn softball fans gathered at Jane B. Moore Field on campus to watch the Tigers take on the Oklahoma Sooners in the final National Championship game. They left disappointed with the result of the game, but not in their team.
The game has grown and the community has supported the Auburn team.
Mary Cross played softball for 11 years. She recently graduated from high school, which ended her softball career.
Cross says seeing the success of her favorite team this season adds to her love of the game.
“It fires it. It’s almost like my season didn’t because I got to see my favorite team go all the way to the very last game so, it was kind of cool to go from my last game to watching Auburn follow through. So it was really good,” Cross said.
The Auburn Softball team returns to Auburn Thursday at 5:30 p.m. central.
