Opelika man to compete in Rio denied entry


OPELIKA, Ala. – A follow-up to a story we first brought you last week about an Opelika High School grad Monzavous Edwards who was set to compete in the Olympics Games in Rio.

According to his family, Edwards was told that all of his paperwork had not been submitted properly and that he can not compete. Edwards was set to represent Nigeria.

Edwards was to be the oldest athlete to compete in the 100 meter dash.
