1 dead after hunting accident in Tallapoosa County

DADEVILLE, Ala. (WRBL) - A hunting accident that left one person dead is under investigating by the Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Department and the Alabama Game and Fish.

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Donna Duran from Cleveland, Alabama.

The sheriff's department says the incident happened Sunday, January 6 at 11:36 a.m.

According to a release from the sheriff's department, they responded to an incident on Centerpoint Road, which south of Dadeville. The initial report was that an individual was removing a rifle from the rear seat of a vehicle when the weapon discharged causing the death of the victim.

The investigation is pending results of an autopsy from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
