Americus police arrest 2 on murder warrants for weekend shooting that left 1 dead

The Americus Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have arrested to individuals wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred February 17.

20-year-old Tahj Malik Ruff and 26-year-old Winfred Floyd are being charged with murder, aggravated assault and three counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.

Police say the charges stem from a shooting incident that occurred on February that left 36-year-old Lynwood Kleckley dead and Winfred Floyd seriously wounded. Floyd continues to be hospitalized and listed in stable condition.

Tahj Malik Ruff is currently housed in the Sumter County Jail.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
