Arrest made in Valentine’s Day deadly JR Allen accident

Columbus police have made an arrest into a deadly car crash that occurred back on Valentine’s Day.

According to the booking report, 30-year-old Darion Tyrell Mitchell was booked in the Muscogee County Jail Tuesday, March 13 at 5:30 p.m.

Mitchell will be charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, second degree and fraudulent driver’s license or identification card.

As News 3 reported, two people were killed in an accident on J.R. Allen Parkway at Interstate 185 around 5:00 a.m. on the morning of February 14.

47-year-old Lee Edward Heath and 32-year-old Anthony Lee Ryan Jensen were killed in the accident after Mitchell allegedly side swiped the two of them who were putting gas into a car hitting both of them.

Mitchell is being held without bond.
