Columbus, Georgia – After winning the GICAA State Championship last season the Calvary Christian Knights made it back to the state finals and looked to repeat as state champs.
The Knights easily won game 1 of the championship series 10-3 over Johnson Ferry.
It took the Knights 6 innings to score 8 runs, but their bats got hot early on in game 2.
Nick Morgan, the game winning pitcher from game 1, gets an early RBI in the first inning to bring Peyton Holoway home to give Calvary the early 1-0 lead. Later in the frame, Jesse Donohoe, hammers a ball back to the warning track but Morgan makes his way home as the Knights scored 5 runs in the top of the first. Next inning Donohoe cranks his 2nd homerun of the afternoon to make it 7-1 Calvary Christian in just the 2nd inning.
