Chambers Academy falls short in State Championship Game

The Chambers Academy Rebels football team did something that is pretty hard to do, they stayed perfect throughout the entire regular season and made it to the AISA state championship game.

The Rebels beat every team on average by about 30 points or so. So heading into the championship game against Marengo Academy, we knew they were going to put up a fight. Chambers Academy led up until nine minutes left in the 3rd quarter.  And then it turned into a touchdown war between these two teams…

The Rebels took back the lead with 3:52 left in the 4th quarter but the 2-point conversion failed (CA now up by 5.) Marengo Academy came back and scored a touchdown with 1:17 left on the clock.

And that was good enough for the Longhorns win at Tory University.

Final score: 34-33.

The Rebels finished their incredible season with an overall record of 12-1.
