GBI investigating homicide in Terrell County

DAWSON, Ga. - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now investigation a homicide in Dawson, Georgia after request by the Dawson Police Department.

According to the GBI, around 1:50 a.m. Dawson police were dispatched to a home on Pecan Street. EMS was previously dispatched for medical assistance, but when officers arrived on scene they found 70-year-old Leroy Weston dead. Weston's body will be sent to Macon for an autopsy.

GBI say that 27-year-old Jaquan Donate Weston of Leesburg is responsible for the death of Leroy Weston, his father.

Jaquan Weston was captured by officers on Lemon Street with self inflicted cuts. Jaquan was transported Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany where he is in critical condition.

Once released, Jaquan will be charged with malice murder.
