10:00 p.m. — Police confirm 22-year-old Dequoyae Waldon has been arrested in connection to Deonn Carter’s death.
COLUMBUS, Ga — Police confirm two men are in jail Friday in connection to a beloved autistic man’s death. They also say three more suspects are still on the loose.
Major Gil Slouchick says 18-year-old Tyquez D Davis and 20-year-old Travarus Thomas face charges for murder after the death of Deonn Carter. Carter was shot on August 9 on the way to get his morning mail.
Carter died Saturday night from complications caused by his injury. He was a well known bagger at Piggly Wiggly and a friend to police and firefighters who regularly shop there.
Slouchick says three more people are wanted in connection to Carter’s death. He says police are looking for 18-year-old Tauron Stepney, 18-year-old Quamaine Thomas, and 22-year-old Dequoyae Waldon.

A funeral for Deonn Carter will be held at 1 p.m. Friday afternoon. He will be honored by law enforcement with a ceremonial honor guard.
