UPDATE: Nov. 7, 2021 (2:46 p.m.)

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan has identified the victim as 28-year-old Malik Sharkur Easton; the incident happened the day after his birthday. He was pronounced on the scene at 7:35 a.m. with multiple gunshot wounds. His body was transported to the county morgue and will go for an autopsy on Monday.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Columbus Police are investigating a Sunday morning homicide near 20th Street and 12th Avenue.

The police call came around 6:30 a.m. An hour later Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan pronounced the victim dead of multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim has not been identified.
