UPDATE: Standoff on Asa Drive ends, suspect in custody

UPDATE 11/12/2021 10:12 a.m. – A standoff on Asa Drive came to a close Friday around 10:00 a.m., when a man came out the house he was barricaded in and surrendered to police.


UPDATE 11/12/2021 4:37 a.m. – Law enforcement and emergency vehicles remain on scene at the intersection of the 700 block of Asa Drive and the 5900 block of Upland Way in Columbus. A portion of this intersection is blocked off by Columbus Police Department.



UPDATE 11/11/2021 5:30 p.m. – Local law enforcement are on the scene of a standoff in Columbus. According to officials with the Columbus Police Department, on Thursday, a man barricaded himself inside a home after firing a gunshot.

The standoff is happening in the area of Asa Drive and Andrea Drive.

Columbus Police Chief Freddie Blackmon told News 3 no one was injured when the shot was fired, but the shooter is refusing to come out of the home.

The area near the home is currently blocked off by police.
