UPDATE: July 8, 2021 10:30 a.m. – The victim has been identified in an early morning wreck on Macon Rd. in Columbus.

Chief Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley confirms Sean Kelly Montgomery, 57 of Columbus, died as a result of his injuries.

His body will be sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – A death investigation is underway after what appears to be a car crash in Columbus.

Chief Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley, confirms one person is dead, but additional information is limited at this time as the investigation is on-going.

This investigation is happening on Macon Road near 2800 block Primrose Road.
