Father arrested in son’s murder, Phenix City PD confirms

PHENIX CITY, Ala. — A man is in jail Friday connected to the early morning murder of his 22-year-old son, Phenix City police confirm.

A police department release says 55-year-old Kenneth David Parsons was arrested at the scene where officers found his son Daniel Cutler Wyatt shot in the head.

Police say officers were called to 400 block of 20th Street at around 3:30 a.m. Friday in reference to a shooting.

They found Wyatt in a home with a bullet wound through his head. The Russell County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police also say a pistol believed to be the murder weapon was found at the scene.

Parsons was also in the home when officers arrived and was arrested without incident.

He has been charged with Murder and is being held at the Russell County Jail.
