COLUMBUS, Ga. – Five people are in behind bars in connection to a drug bust. Columbus Police say they found nearly 14g of heroin valued at more than $4,000 in a black bag from a car on Macon Road. Police also found 7.6g of marijuana valued at $76, as well as a digital scale, baggies and needles.
Officers tell News 3 they sized one Meperdine pill valued at $25 in an unmarked container inside the car. They also found 15 acetaminophen/propoxyphene pills in the passenger seat, all valued at $375. Finally, police found 10.4g of cocaine valued at $1,040.


Police say the black bag containing heroin had a card with one of the suspects’ names on it: Jamal Brown. Brown, 27, Anissa Terry, 21, Justin Hall, 19, Ali Shamdin, 29, and Chad Cook, 27, were all arrested on various drug charges. Those charges include trafficking, obstruction of an officer, possession of marijuana and drug related items; narcotic equipment, cocaine possession with intent to use and manufacture, and open container violations. Police say the car also had inoperative brake lights when they stopped it.
