CHS ranks in Newsweek’s top 500

Georgia

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Newsweek ranks a local high school among one of the top 500 high schools in the country in 2016.  Columbus High School is one of 10 high schools in Georgia to make Newsweek’s list.

According to Newsweek, 74 percent of CHS students are ready for college.  Columbus high falls in school board member Frank Myer’s district.

Myers says CHS has consistently been one of the top schools in the state.

“When you consider that there are what like 35,000 high schools in the United States and Columbus High is listed in the top 500, that pretty much speaks for itself in terms of the superlative nature of instruction,” Myers said.

CHS also ranks in the top 500 high schools that prepares students for college while overcoming economic obstacles.
