Georgia man wanted in connection to homicide captured in Connecticut

STONINGTON, Conn. (AP) – Authorities say a man wanted in connection with a homicide in Georgia is in custody after a brief foot chase in Connecticut.

State police said in a statement that 33-year-old Robert Donell Annunziata of McDonough, Georgia, was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over Sunday night in North Stonington. Police said the suspect was then chased on foot across Interstate 95 into Stonington, where he was captured.

Annunziata is charged with being a fugitive from justice based on a homicide warrant from Georgia. No details were provided by Connecticut authorities about that warrant.

Police said the suspect, who was taken to a hospital following his arrest for treatment of a leg injury, also faces charges of resisting arrest. It wasn’t immediately known if he had legal representation.
