Georgia man gets 25 years for producing child pornography

ROME, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia man who targeted very young children has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for producing child pornography.

Federal prosecutors said in a release Friday that 28-year-old Shawn Ryan Budovic of Cartersville pleaded guilty May 1. His prison time will be followed by lifetime supervised release and sex offender registration.

Prosecutors say Budovic began an online relationship with a minor when he was in his mid-20s. They say he groomed her to believe his sexual interest in children was normal and sent her child pornography. Eventually, he got her to send sexually explicit photos of her young sisters.

He had a collection of hundreds of videos and images of other prepubescent girls being sexually molested and raped, and he engaged in sexually explicit exchanges with other young girls.
